I’m Johnnie Bellamy, and I am running for the Myrtle Beach City Council to restore accountability, safety, and common sense to our local government. For too long, we have witnessed our tax dollars being wasted, rising crime rates, and decisions made without considering the needs of residents and small businesses. It’s time for a change.
DID YOU KNOW? EVERY YEAR, $24 MILLION OF OUR TAXES ARE SENT OUTSIDE OF THE CITY OF MYRTLE BEACH TO THE “TDF” TOURISM DEVELOPMENT FEE. THAT’S MONEY WE SHOULD BE INVESTING RIGHT HERE IN OUR NEIGHBORHOODS.
Johnnie Bellamy isn’t a career politician – she’s a proven leader with decades of experience in Strategic Planning and Turnaround Management, helping organizations solve problems, manage resources wisely, and deliver results.
From the executive boardroom to the classroom, from healthcare systems to local community leadership, Johnnie has dedicated her career to making complex systems work better for the people they serve.
Johnnie’s career has been about accountability, leadership, and results. She knows how to manage budgets, lead teams, and fight for what matters on time and on budget – and she’s ready to do the same for Myrtle Beach.
Johnnie Bellamy is dedicated to placing the needs of the community above all else. Her commitment goes beyond mere politics; she will tirelessly advocate for tangible solutions that truly make a difference in the lives of the people she serves.
Support local police, reduce crime, and make Myrtle Beach safer for both residents and visitors by prioritizing public safety in every decision.
Deliver transparent decisions, honest budgets, and open dialogue, ensuring residents have a real voice before major city policies are approved.
Invest directly in our neighborhoods, infrastructure, and families to build a stronger community. Tourism is vital, but residents must come first. Policies should protect quality of life and prioritize the needs of those who call Myrtle Beach home.
Ensure growth benefits Myrtle Beach residents first. Support responsible development that strengthens communities, not just outside developers.
I owe it to my fellow citizens to do all I can to correct the wrongs, so it’s time to get out of the press box and onto the field to work towards bringing back responsible local government.

Johnnie Bellamy puts people before politics – prioritizing residents’ needs, listening to the community, and working for real solutions in Myrtle Beach.
I love it here… I was born in Horry County, my DNA is here, my parents & grandparents grew up in North Myrtle Beach. I have been actively involved in many organizations that exist to improve the lives of our residents, businesses and families.
Unfortunately, that government closest to the people spends so much money, we’re in debt up to our eyeballs and yet life is not better or easier or more affordable.
Back when builders & developers wouldn’t even THINK of clear-cutting hundreds of beautiful trees. Back when massive traffic jams were the exception, not the rule. Back when local government hired the best-qualified people, just the right person of ANY color, shape, or background who will work hard for US!
Back when families flocked to our weather, our beaches, our sun & fun, our golf courses and our entertainment. Back when builders, developers & Americans with dreams created exciting new reasons to come here & stay – not bloated government that hides from the very folks who fund it.
There’s so much we can do together – Myrtle Beach Deserves Better!
With your vote, that’s just what we’ll do at City Hall.
On November 4th, Go vote for real change!
Although it is impossible for a single Council member to make the kind of sweeping changes that I believe we must make to survive and thrive, I will work overtime to accomplish my vision for Myrtle Beach.
If you’re like me, the answer is a resounding “YES!”
I will vote against wasteful spending; vote for increased public safety.
I will vote to hire only the best, most qualified employees for every position (ending DEI).
I will vote against the rampant destruction of our beautiful environment.
I will vote to encourage more voters to participate in elections by creating single-member districts & moving our elections to even-numbered years.
I will vote to hold our meetings in the full public view at their convenience, not ours.
